Which to buy

I am looking at buying a used diesel. I have heard bad stories about the 6.0 motors and I heard if you do a few things to them they will last forever. I have found a couple 6.0 that I like real we'll and I also found a 7.3. The 7.3 is a 2000 with 180000 miles for 12000. The 6.0 are around 150000 to 160000 miles and average around 13000 or 14000. Which would be the better purchase

Going to take 3 grand to get the 6.0 reliable I believe with head studs egr delete blue spring and etc. .but if it has those for 13 to 15k and is a 05 to 07 I would go with a 6.0 if not 7.3 all the way.

Just make sure you do your research on the 6.0 before you make a purchase. know what you are getting in to. I did my research and knew exactly what to look for, what to test, so I knew I was getting a truck that wasn't going to cause me problems right away. Read the stickies on the 6.0 page. Also, read the 7.3 stickies. I had both, and so far I like my 06 6.0 better than the 7.3. It rides smoother, the wife likes that it is a bit quieter in the cab, interior is nicer.

depends what you need it for , a 6.0 deff wont last as long as a 7.3 , bullet proofing helps , but does not 100% guarantee it will be problem free , for 3 grand you could get some good mods to a 7.3 , instead of trying to make the 6.0 reliable
