05 6.0L turbo psi?

I Just purchased an 05 f250 super duty. It has 40k on it currently. I do not know much about diesels. I was driving down the highway last night around 73 mph in cruise control and I noticed there was surging I look down and the turbo psi gauge was bouncing irregularly. It almost felt like the tranny clunking. It went on for about 30 seconds and stopped and acted normal the rest of my trip. Any Ideas of what might have caused this. Thanks

? in and out of overdrive ?

probably won't heal itself I would probably have codes checked by a decent diagnostic tool

I've had trucks do that and have a sticking VGT solenoid, as well as stuck vanes in the turbo

My 07 has done it from the day I bought it mainly on slight down hill grades, its always been one of my pet pevs but I have never figured it out. Truck has 218and a half now and had either 120000 or 140000 when I bought it most I have done to the turbo is replaced the cold side boot clamp blew it in 2 when I built 36lbs of boost
