Vegetable Oil and/or Muli-fuel questions

I've been doing searching and reading. I've decided I want to get a 7.3L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel truck. I've read that you need one with "manual injectors" and not computer ones. What year truck would best suit my needs and what year is the last year that they used manual injectors.

Do I need to know anything else about using vegetable oil as fuel. I have access to a nearly unlimited supply of "used" fast food vegetable oil which would be a very cheap source of fuel.

i too am interested in this with my 6.0 but wvo is almost impossible to get here and goes for more than diesel once treated. I would love to build a centerfuge but without a dependable (or otherwise) source of wvo i cant see getting in that deep I would need to build a shop to purify in and the system to centerfuge and filter and it all gets over whelming without a source of cheap fuel

You aren't looking for a powerstroke, you need a 7.3 idi somewhere around '94 or older. The injectors are cheap and not electronic and wvo will cause excessive wear on injectors. A set of powerstroke injectors can cost you somewhere around $2000 and rebuilt idi injectors can be had for under $500.

Here is some good info How HEUI works and best to convert

I have yet to know of a person that did a wvo oil system on their vehicle and then actually stuck with it. Between building a system, maintaing that system (pumps and filters) and then collecting/processing oil, the whole thing was a too much of a chore. People also know the oil is money now so not many restaurants are just giving it away now.
