6.0 vin number with swapped ecm

Ok maybe a dumb question but we've got a truck that we swapped the ecm out with one from the same year truck running the same strategy code. My question is I'm looking into ordering an sct with custom tunes for it and some tuners want the vin number. I haven't had this ecm re flashed either. When I had it scanned to get the strategy code I didn't scan for vin number. My question is where do these trucks store the vin number? Will it read the vin from the previous truck or from the truck it's in now? Thanks.

The VIN will be stored in just the PCM; you shouldn't have any issues with the FICM being out of a different truck.

It's the pcm that's been changed not the ficm. So if the computers out of a different truck your saying it will show that trucks vin?

I would just do an as-built flash on the entire truck so that everything has matching VIN

Sorry for the looong delay, but I was told by a tech today the PCM would still read the PCM of the old truck.

Not a bad idea; its required on most other Fords with the PATS key system.
