exhaust help!!!!

Been a while sense ive posted here but I need help, I have a 4 inch turbo back exhaust and I need to put a cat on so I can smog it. I picked up a new cat on ebay for 200 and now im having trouble, I dont want to start cutting my exhaust up to get it on because im just going to take it off, so my question is are the 6.0 cats directional on exhaust flow? And what I mean is there an inlet and outlet or can it be ran backwards?

my name is jeff but my friends call me.........jeff
