Red face Help a girl out? Buying my first 7.3

Hey guys I'm looking at my first 2003 7.3 F250 184000 miles it has a salvage title small crack in the windshield and needs new wheel bearings. The pictures I have gotten she looks really clean. He only wants 8000 for it.
It's a 3 1/2 hour drive one way so I need to make sure I check all of her ins and outs

What all should I check for I know the common stuff like:

Oil pan rust

Smoke color

Pull the air filter

Look at the wheel on the turbo.. see if there is any play or the wheel is all worn out..

Look at all the fluids. Make sure they are all nice and clean.

Check the blow by, open the oil filter cap and see how much pressure is coming out the cap when the truck is running.

If it has a bed mat, look under it to see how beat up the bed is.

Glow plugs there is really no way around them

And rust there is no way around it here in Michigan

Is there anything else

I wouldn't buy a salvage title truck for 8k honestly, you could get a clean title one in the south for the same price, ohh and down here they don't rust much if at all, you should find out why it's salvage before waisting time

I agree, salvage that's too much. Now if you're talking rebuilt, its not as bad. Salvage title I am not sure you can tag or insure, pretty sure you can't. Rebuilt I know you can, you will just take a bath on resale. I have a rebuilt title truck myself, so they're not all bad.

Way to much for a salvage title. I bought my 1 owner 2000 7.3 crew cab 2wd in my sig with 98k miles for $9200 here in Texas. Had some minor damage on the bed fender flare area from a blow out and that's the only thing wrong with it.

Have to agree with the gang. That salvage title scares me... no matter how clean she looks.

Salvage doesn't bother me but just gotta look sharp. I paid $7500 for my 2007 ECLB 4x4 XLT with 163k miles with a rebuilt title, but I know the rebuilder.

We bought my uncles 2001 7.3 with salvage title for $4900 with brand new tires and that's from a car dealer and that's almost been 3 years ago. I only paid $7900 for my 2003 6.0 crewcab fx4 with clean title!!!! Love that power from the 6.0, so yeah I would have to say that's quite a bit to much my 6.0 has 222k has a bit more miles but it's a crew cab and a fully loaded lariat. Moonroof and all.
