TURBO REPLACEMENT CONSIDERING 100 HOUSING

I have a 97 FSuperDuty and I generally pull 26K+ total weight including truck down the road with it.

So my turbo is spanked out and my up pipes are leaking like crazy. The truck is not producing any power.

I have new up pipes on order and am considering buying a turbo with the 1.00 housing vice the 1.15 housing. I am told it will not run my EGTs past 1200 and 1200 is fine for my truck to run all day long at.

Any thoughts, real life experience with this?

a billet compressor wheel would be a great addition too

consider getting a new intake as well, that will also help with egts, look at the DIY 6637 intake

So I was talking with a guy last night and he said the 1.00 housings is really meant for those who run an inner cooler on their truck and I dont have an inner cooler on my truck.

Please give me a bit more explanation on this billet compressor wheel. How will that improve the boost?

Also should I part ways with the waste gate thats on the stock turbo or should I put it on the new turbo?
