Tinting chrome mirrors with headlight tint?

So I absolutely hate my chrome (well fake chrome I'm assuming) mirrors / bug shield / door handles.. I don't really feel like investing money into buying new ones and I like the black chrome look.. would it be feasable to do a lite 1000grit sand on these items to rough & clean it then cover it with headlight tint to give it a black chrome look? Or would the bond not stick?

Yeah it'll work, you don't even need to wet sand it tho, just get the self etching primer and paint them with the tint spray after the primer dries. I tested this on a set of projector shrouds a few months ago. Duplicolor makes a black chrome spray paint just FYI.
