Cab Light Plug Question

Hey guys.

I picked up a set of OEM cab lights a while ago. I originally bought them for a 2001 super duty (2WD) and the plugs were the same, but I sold that truck and bought a 2000 (4x4) and the male end of the plug on the cab lights does not match the female end on my truck. I have attached a picture to show how the male end is longer then the female. How should I go about wiring my cab lights? I have some time off and would like to install them sometime soon. Thanks in advance for any help.

Is there anything currently plugged into the truck harness? If not you can take the wiring from the harness that has power for the lights and cut it and cut the plug off the cab light harness and butt connector or solder the two together. Or try to find a similar one in a salvage yard and either take the harness or plug and use it on yours. If there is something already plugged into the truck harness find the wire again that has power when the park lights are on and tap into it for power.

Thanks for the reply. No there is nothing plugged into the truck harness. I think I will try butt connectors and see if I can get them to work. I'm fairly new to wiring so i'll do some research online and figure it out.
