High Milage Cargo
I am in the process of purchasing an E-350 Cargo Super duty van and I was wondering if I was making a wise decision or not.
It is a 98 7.3 Powerstroke extended cargo van with 590,000. That is a lot of miles, but it was very well taken care of and everything has been replaced with the exception of the motor. The van is is good condition inside and outside and runs well. I'm really nervous about this decision and could use some help. He wants 2000 for it... should I do it? What do I need to look for as I'm going over it before I purchase it? |

That's more miles and more money than I would be comfortable with but some people think I'm a cheapa$$ too. What kind of weight are you going to haul or tow? If it's not a lot you could buy a 300 straight six for less money with a lot less miles and similar (if not better) fuel economy. Just stay away from the V6 in that era.

Yeah, I agree too. I wouldn't be hauling much, but I deal with high to mid volume copiers and they weigh between 300-650 lbs a piece. I usually carry three or four at a time.
I think that I am going to pass on this one being that I feel that it would cost me a lot more in the long run. I totally agree about not getting the V6.. Thanks, George |
