'04 Moon Roof Issue

A few weeks ago my moon roof seemed to slightly bind while I was opening or closing it. It just happened for a split second. Well now the thing is completely stuck in a slightly vented position.

From what I can hear, whatever the motor push/pulls to move the glass, only travels a couple inches before 100% bind. So if I was to try and vent the window further, it would pop up slightly and then stop. Same with trying to lower it. If that makes any sense.

So something is definitely preventing the window from moving along the track. I did do a search on this but failed to find anything. Has anyone had this issue before? I just had to wash it today with a towel over the roof.

Is removing the headliner going to be the best thing to do to further investigate? I can only get my big head so far up there to try and see what's going on.

After pulling the moonroof glass out, and running the track back and forth, I noticed that many of the plastic pieces were cracked and broken. Pieces were even laying in the track. No wonder this thing wasn't working.

So I ordered a new moonroof track from a dealer. They used the year and VIN from the truck to match it up. It came in yesterday so I began the install tonight. But I've run into some issues.

The rear part of the track was slightly different. But the motor mounted up and everything just like it should. I guess its just a newer better design. Anyway, my old glass doesn't seem to want to fit into the new tabs on the track. There is a fin on the glass piece that hits the track not allowing it to sit lower enough. Also, without the glass, while pressing the open/close button, the track only slides an inch or so with nothing exciting happening. Is that just because the glass isn't in it? Maybe a motor problem?

So it sounds like I have a mismatched glass and track? Any Ford moonroof experts in the house who could help with part numbers and junk? Maybe instructions. Thanks!
