Sounds Like It's Going to TAKE OFF!!!

So I’m cruising 70 mph in the right hand lane on I-310 today and I need to get over. There is a Dodge pickup that is about 30-40 yards behind me in the left hand lane. I put my signal on to let him know that I want to get over before I could so he can get on it and pass me to be in front. There was a car on the side of me at that time. Well he doesn’t come so I start to get over. Right as I start to get over he mashes it. I’m now halfway in the left lane with a 6500 lbs. bottle rack and he’s on my a$$ . It’s either slam on my brakes to get back over or just continue to get over. I say to myself a few choice words and leave it alone.

Well when I get back to the office the terminal manager wants to talk to me. He asks me if I had a confrontation on the road this morning. I replied “No?” He says a guy called about me. Something about I was waiving in and out of traffic with no blinkers going 82 mph and driving erratic on I-310. When the guy passed me he held the phone out the window (which I didn’t even notice) and said “Sounds Like It's Going to TAKE OFF!!!” My manager tells him that my truck just sounds that loud cruising and to call him back next time with a REAL complaint because he knows he’s full of it. That he’s just mad because I got in front of him. I love the people I work with.

Sounds like a complete moron to me. Glad your boss stuck up for you. Knowing your employees when your the boss is a great thing.

What I mean is when the boss knows his employees are not idiots and don't do stupid things it pays.

Big time. I'm a owner/operator so he's really not my boss. I just thought it was hilarious how the guy said it sounds like it’s going to take off. I had the cruise control on 70 mph. I wonder what he would have thought if I got on it. If you know the Interstate that I’m talking about its only a few miles long. It connects Hwy 90 and I-10. And my manager knows that I’ve been trying to get better MPG. Can’t get that going 82 mph.
