What Tranmission Fluid to use
I have a 2003 F250 4x4 with the 7.3 and auto trans. Its got 90,000 miles and I am going to change the transmission and trafercase fluids and filter for the first time myself. (The dealer has done it the last 3 times). Anything I sould know that is out of the normal, and what type of fluids sould I use? I was thinking about going with Amsoil sence I have that in my diffs. I was also thinking about the Mag-Hytec transmission pan is it worth the cost?
I tow a 10,000+ lbs fifth wheel at least 500 miles a month and at times the temp gets up to 230 degrees I know this is not good, will Amsoil help this like they say (I read in there adds that it will reduse the temp by 50+ degrees)? I have a 4" lift, 20" wheels, 35" tires, 4" exhust and a DP Tunner (when towing put it on a low setting for towing). |

use schaeffers oil. i think to to my tranny and transfer case cost me around 90.00 with out with filter just oil. that will lower the temps greatly becuase its synt. also think about a mag tech pan also the fins let heat out and can greatly decress temp. yes but schaeffers all the way!
