diesel mechanic carrer

I figured there would be a few on this site. Iv been learning on this site for about a year now and know a decent amount about my 7.3 and some stuff about the 24valve cummins. I must say, i love learning about diesels, its interesting stuff coming from gas motors. My question here is would being a diesel mechanic be a good paying career that is sure to get a good amount of business. I figured it would because it seems liek everyone is switching over to diesels nowadays for the millage pulling a load. Any input or info is appreciated.

I'm a diesel mechanic. I've always been interested in cars and trucks so I talked to my dad and he told me to go into diesel because the pay is better and if you can work on a diesel you can work on anything. And he is right. I started out as a Cat heavy equipment mechanic and now I'm doing trucks. If you like big stuff and fixing things then I say go for it. I've gone to school for it and have been doing it going on 5 years now and I love it. One thing I will say is that you will need tools. And they aren't cheap I have a lot of money wrapped up in tools. Without good tools you can't fix anything

Sounds like your going to Wyotech. I was accepted there had an apartment and everything set up and I ended up going somewhere else. I will say the mountains in the morning is a nice site in the morning though. Good luck with school
