i have a 99 psd with a stock c6 with over 210,000 miles. i am the second owner of the truck. The original owner kept it stock and pulled a gooseneck trailer of cattle throughout the state. i baught the truck with over 170,000 miles. since i baught it i added intake, exhaust and a buddy gave me his superchip. will a tw chip with gauges blow out my tranny or should i add a shift kit or just buy it anyways?

I think it would be safe to say that the more power you add, the shorter she will live with those miles. Also depends on your driving habits. With the miles on it, might want to consider a rebuild along with the shift kit if ya can. Just my opinion tho.

well even though i am 19 i tend to drive like a 75 year old man. i drive slow just to see how good of mpg i can get per tank. thanks for the advice

cmon now , we arent your parents , i drove like that too (yeah right ), no need for the add ons to drive normal

just messin, really though, any power adders are gonna be hard on trans , may consider a reb uild , me id put the power to it and worry about fixn whatever it breaks

well even though my parents aren't on here my friends would tell you that they hate riding with me because i drive slow. but i'm not sure how much a rebuild kit would cost

you shouldnt have a problem... but like shane said... your stock trans is only really built enough to handle stock power if even that lol.... any performance upgrade will put stress on stock components.. unfortunately for anyone with a 99-03 7.3L that means the trans.... tony will raise the line pressure with his tunes to help keep it alive as much as possible but their is no gurantee that it wont go out... mine went out on me at 70k lol... but i drive my truck hard most of the time (this was with an edge product) i run the TW chip on my truck now... also do you have any gauges yet? i would highly suggest some with any programmer/chip you install... the stock trans gauge is a dummy light.... you need to be accurately reading your temps

i am currently thinking about getting gauges, probably boost, tranny, and egt but i am a little short on the green, just spent over 1000 on tires so it will be next month.
