Possibly buying a 04 f250 6.0l, what do I need to watch for!

Hello everyone,
A local dealer has a 04 f250 xlt with the fx4 package. It has 70,000 miles, and is very clean. I told a few friends about the truck and they are trying to steer me away from the truck because of the 6.0 diesel motor. Are these motors really that bad? I have also heard to try to get a 05 & up 6.0 because the 03 was terrible, the 04 they started correcting the problems, and by 05 they kinda had it straightened out, but they are still problematic. To be honest, fords seem to be all I can afford, and I really like the ford truck style. But I don't need a money pit or a headache. Any advice would be great! Thanks!

Hey, you get my first post. I don't know much about 6.0's but one of my buddies has one with a River City Diesel bulletproofing kit. I think ARP head studs are about all you need, but talk to the guys at RCD and they'll tell you about the kit.
