I Made It!

Well it was quite a drive from the dealership to my house but I am home at last - 5 days and 3000 miles later. I took my Edge CS with me and checked the various parameters that members on this forum seem to think are the most important before I signed on the dotted line. The truck had an exhaust leak that the Nanaimo dealership couldn't locate, but the local Ford dealer found in about 10 seconds - a broken turbo/up-pipe clamp. Also, the ABS light came on at about 2500 miles into my trip home. That turned out to be a sensor on the rear axle. Other than that it was a trouble-free trip. It cost me $773 for fuel that equates to 24mpg (Imp., not U.S.). Engine temps varied between 190 and 198, and oil temps locked in at 206/7 with the exception of the long climbs in the mountains of B.C. There, the oil temp would sometimes get to 215 degrees, but coolant stayed between 190 and 198. No signs of any coolant leaks or purging from the coolant bottle. Now, I just have to get the oil changed to synthetic T6, plus I will add 1 treatment of Archoil for this change and see what the results are.

For a F350, this truck drives and rides beautifully. I actually prefer it to my 2011 F150. And so does the wife - which is a bonus hehe

Cheers!

Chris

I test drove an 05 with 30000 miles on it before I got this 2006. The 05 definitely had more umpf and I mentioned this to my Ford mechanic friend. He was of the opinion that the low-mile 2005 probably had never had the ECM reflashed to the lower state of tune that Ford rolled out to help stop the warranty repair bleeding.

I gotta get a tuner and get my power back
