People taking pictures of your truck

I cant be the only one obviously but any of you guys with the less than stock trucks have problems with intrusive people taking pictures and generally getting way to f-ing close to your truck? Obviously i knew going in that this would happen when i got my truck but not nearly as bad as it actually is.

I cant go anywhere without some nosey mo-fo coming up and blatantly getting a picture(without my permission to top) or coming to say some stupid arse comment but last night at about 8 i swung by Mcds to get some dinner and left my GF in the truck because she wasnt feeling well and then i came back out and there was obviously something wrong and i asked her and she said there was 2 sketchy guys out taking pictures of the truck and walking around it and it was scaring her so that really p'd me off unfortunately they worked at mcds and went inside otherwise i woulda beat the crap out of them for scaring my GF. I told her next time ill give her my key fob and tell her to hit the panic button which is hooked to my semi horn.

Any of you guys have these problems? I love the crap out of my truck but i swear this damn thing is like a bug light for rednecks and trash.

That's the price of fame!!!

If your truck's a celebrity and out in public then it's just going to happen. If I saw your truck in a parking lot I would definitely be interested in getting a closer look at it!

But I guess with your reaction I will watch out for your truck now so that I can head the other way because you don't seem to proud of it. I have had several trucks fixed up nice with large lifts on them and I felt good when people took an interest in what I have done to them.

Its not that i hate everyone. I dont mind if a fellow diesel guy comes up and strikes up a conversation hell i do it when i see someone else(only when im with my truck), its the collective Walmart-esk type people that feel like its their property and come up and stick their heads in the wheel wells, kick the tires, pose in front of it, and the like that p---es me off.

I understand that its a "celebrity" but it just amazes me the ignorance of property that people have and the guy that was blatantly walking around the truck with my GF clearly in it(with the radio on and windows half down) just makes me mad because thats just stupid. You dont go walk into someones yard because you wanted a closer look at what kind of tv they have in the living room and you certainly dont do it when they are at home watching it.

I know i know ill never stop stupid people but i just wanted to see what other peoples experiences were cause i know im not the only one with stupid people surrounding them.

I had a similar thing happen to me last night at a Walmart. Walked out to my 96' f250 that's bone stock except it has 285/75/r16 MT's on it. Some young kid with a Jeep Cherokee had a tape measure out measuring my tires. Asked him what he was doing and he stated "wanted to see how much bigger they were then 216/75/r15's." I'm like kid don't mess with another mans truck first of all and secondly look it up on your damn smart phone. The real reason it made me mad is he was on the passenger side of the truck and when my 9yr old daughter walked around the front of the truck to get in he scared the crap out of her. My truck is nowhere near a show truck it's just a good friend. LOL.

Funny you mention this. My wife called me and the police not long ago because two guys were in our driveway poking around the truck. we live in a pretty rural area.I was about 10 minutes away so I got there before the cops. Anyway turns out they "just wanted to see how much lift was on it Bro". They were genuinely shocked that this was unacceptable and that we called the cops. I just don't understand the mentality and entitlement of people these days. And no, it ain't no show truck. Its got 4" of lift on it. LOL

Yea its just ridiculous the ignorance of people these days. Im sure the guy could see just fine "how much lift" was on your truck from the street. Its like they were never taught look with your eyes and not your hands.

I had an h1 and found pics of it online that a valet had taken of the outside and interior. I was hot when I found them. Besides that anywhere I went people were always wanting to talk to me. I'm not to keen on striking up a convo every place I go. It was an underestimated consequence of owning it. I do miss it though.

Yea that kinda s--- is just inexcusable he should have just been happy enough to drive that beast. Im sure my truck is all over youtube, instagram, etc but havent found it...yet. But yea i obviously knew it would get looks and occasional conversations but its to the point that anywhere i go someone just HAS to say something and its usually the same asinine comments that they think they are just the most clever mofo in the world saying.

I usually tend to be a complete smartarse and give the cold shoulder and they tend to leave me alone but some just dont take the hint. But if i can tell its someone who knows their s--t then ill be more than happy to have a conversation but if your just coming to gawk because you have never been around a truck before then i have no time for that.
