They got me!! Stolen and recovered!

Well, they got my truck two weeks ago this past Thursday. Stole it in a crowded parking lot in broad daylight at a horse show. It was recovered last Tuesday in an abandoned warehouse where they had taken the wheels and tires, toolbox, radio, programmer, gages and batteries. Also tried to set it on fire at the fuel cap.
Supposed to be bringing it to the body shop here in town today. Preliminary estimate by insurance adjuster is not a total. Got to get it here and let the shop go over it and get their estimate.
Friend of mine's 05 F-150 was stolen about two months ago. It was recovered also. Merged out in front of him on the interstate and a high-speed chased ensued(long story)!
I can't, for the life of me, figure out why Ford doesn't do something to make their trucks harder to get into and steal!

Sorry it was stolen and all the crap that goes with.
Glad they found it - Hopefully, the insurance company will take care of you.

thats really on you to implement
glass breaks end of story for entering
the door handle issue is not isolated to ford

as far as starting they just don't over complicate these IMHO because they are fleet trucks also

a decent alarm and a starter kill goes a long way to having your truck still sitting in the parking lot but still no guarantee

however I am sure all of this you knew before it got jacked

hope it works out in your favor !

Not going to disagree with you here, Zmann, but I know of 5 people locally who have had their trucks stolen in the past year and they were all Fords. It may not be isolated to Fords, but they sure do appear to be the easiest to get into.

It's not some much that they are the easiest to get in to.....it's they are the most desirable!

Most desirable and easiest to part out, think of all the work trucks that need parts

MY O5 GMC 2500 hd was popped the same way as a ford

this bypassed the OEM alarm since the truck thought you used the key

however My viper alarm set off as soon as they slide the lock bar to unlock

truck was still there I have the same alarm on the Ford now

I love it!!

Seriously, though, you guys got any suggestions as to alarms or anything? I've since been looking at the jimmi jammers plates that go behind the door handles and locks. Gonna have to do something, just too crappin easy to get into!!

What makes it so bad, both smartkeys to our toyota highlander were in the truck, also, so it had to be towed to the dealership as it was locked up under the carport at home. Took the dealership over 30 minutes to jimmy into it!!
Told them if my truck had been a fraction of that difficult to get into we wouldn't be here doing this!
