How to launch an FX4???

OK so im sure the question has already been asked, and I prefer to ask again rather than play around and break something. I LOVE RACING. for fun. I sold my '90 5.0 to get my '03 6.0 for work and play... so the question is, what is the best way you guys have found to launch this beast? I know the truck is pretty quick, ive raced a few people, but i want to take it to the track and see what it will do... the truck has the shift on the fly 4wd and im not sure if its ok to launch in 4WD and shift back to 2wd. Any proven suggestions would be greatly appreciated. By the way, I raced my buddy with a '96 gt. everyone in my class bet against me, and were up in arms after i told him i would let him get the jump too.... results if you would like to see....

Don't switch..

But even if you do switch it back nothing will happen UNTIL you let out of the throttle. So just be safe then sorry, don't switch it back until your done with the run!

It is safe to go the whole way. Safer then if it were to unlock halfway down and grind all the gears.

I have done it at least 8-10 times at the track... 50 times at least on the street... lol.

Rpm should be around 2k... But I look more for around 15-25 psi. Every truck is different and you'll know what your number should be so it doesn't hop.

I just hold mine on the brake pedal, in 4HI, and build as much boost as I can without it "creeping" forward. Then just turn her loose. 4HI should result in no spin and a straight line rocket. Just switch back to 2WD before turning very tight. Enjoy.

It's a good thing a family with some kids in the car didn't miss-judge your speed and pull out in front of you.....

You talking to me?
I don't drive 120+ with people around. Just cuz you do a power brake doesn't automatically mean your speeding recklessly
