Adapting 2" trailer hitch to 2.5" mount

I mail ordered one of those triple ball B&W hitches. Trouble is, it came with a 2" square shank, while my F350's hitch takes a 2.5" and it rattles around in there.

Does anyone make an adapter to fill in the slack? I'm not towing heavy loads, just a lawnmower, but that hitch rattling around scares me.

hmm.. not that I am aware of. I would get back intouch with B&W or whoever you ordered it from and see if they sent you the wrong one or ask to return and replace...

I'd buy a piece of 2" ID 1/4" thick square tube and cut that to length. Or buy one from U-Haul, or any Ford/Chevy dealer. The Ford dealer here has them already installed in the receivers that are 2.5". The Chevy work trucks that we get (not my choice) have them sitting inside the truck.
