My luck ran out!
Almost forgot to post this!
Well after my IPR issue I had ZERO leaks and not a single problem since then.
That was on April 20th. Almost one month later now.
Well I drove down to hotrod weekend and drove her hard around Ocean city. I park her around 12pm on Saturday and go play some football on the beach. Well we get back into the truck, everyone's excited to go spank some more mustangs and other trucks. Well I tell my friend Kyle to drive, I want to sit in the back with the girls this time (there were 7 of us total). Well my friends like dude, why's your truck not starting? I'm like uhh, what?!
Well I get in and try it an dit just clicks. I try to jump the solenoid, and I'm getting sparks so I don't think it's the problem. Well I have no tools and it's about 3:30 pm on a Saturday.
I go to Advanced Auto which is only about 5 miles away but the traffic on the Rt 50 bridge was so bad it took us 40 min to get there and 40 min to get back. While I was there, I got a basic set of sockets and I had a stubby ratchet in the truck.
I pull the old starter out and get the new one in. Everything's going GREAT until I get to the last power bolt... now mind you I'm using a stubby ratchet with a total of 2 fingers on it and somehow I manage to break the stud off out of the casing.
I have to take it back out, back to advanced and they warranty is. Only problem is, they don't have any more in stock!!!!!!!!!!! So it's 40 miles out to Salisbury to get one from Autozone!
I get back, it's 8:30 pm now (sat in traffic for ever bit of 90 minutes) and it literally takes me 7 minutes to put the dayum thing in. I get cleaned up and it's 9pm and time to leave so I lost about 6 hours of my trip, but hey, I feel great being able to come up with a solution and fix it in the hotel parking lot!
While under there I was like wow, there's 2 drips of oil on the drain plug! I dismiss it thinking I'll find it later and it's no big deal!
Well I park the truck Saturday night at my girls house and don't get back into my truck until Monday around 2pm. I notice a HUGE amount of oil all under the truck! I'm like WTF... I gotta get to work, so I'll deal with this later! Well I made it about 100 feet and she died. WTF! LOL.
I change out of my dress clothes and start walking. I walk about 6 blocks and get 2 gallons of oil, an o ring, and funnel. Meanwhile it's raining cats and dogs in Philly. I walk back to the truck, install the Rear O ring, fill with oil, crank - nothing... crap! DUH>>> check the HPOP! Sure enough it was low... so I filled it and it started right up! I ended up only being 90 min late for work.
So that's how my luck ran out! LOL.
