ok so recently at work we had some soliders hydrolock there engine, an eventully crank it over an just cause general internal mayhem, now when things like this happen we dont rebuild we change out, so anywho we were debeting on weather or not to try an give em a statment of charges, oh by the way this is a hmmve with a 6.2l non turbo diesel, no we have changed em plenty of time but never really bother to look at the price, it cost over 10,000 dollers! now keep in mind we will be geting a remanufactured engine, how does this thing cost so much, its insane i feel bad if we do give them a statement of charges, are chief was tryin to go for 12,000 to include parts an labor . i wonder how much are toliet paper cost.

lol yea, I was supply po for a little while, dunno if you know what a gate valve is but we spent $33,000 for a 10" Gate valve that goes in a main steam piping. The military spends crazy money on even the smallest of things. Its all about contracts oh and about 10k for an internal shaft for a sliding shoe pump.

thats for sure, heres a funny one went to order a tail light for one of my trucks acidently put a $150,000 tractor trailer on order, luckly it was caught before i even left the pll office that coulda been bad

Wow... you can get reman'd longblock 7.3's for between 3-4k

for the chevy motors right now they are outrageous my father-in-law works for alban cat and the have a baltimorecounty truck in there for some reason that the aluminum heads came apart, the motor ends up as a total loss, gm cant get the motors, they tell them to call this to get hold of the motor. no turbo,electrics,intake,etc... the # goes to banks, oh and the motor he wants 14,000 for just the motor

Hate to get off topic, But I see you are in Killeen. Assuming Ft Hood. Did you vote in the San Antonio meet, And are you going to make it to the GTG?

just wanted to give a lil update on this engine we got it out droped in the new one, i had an apointment the next day so iwasnt able to help hook everything up, long story short i went out to do a QAQC,(inspection i guess you could say) well by odd chance the air vent line had a clear tube on it an i happened to notice liqued, yep sure enough fuel was in it, partys unknown hooked the fuel return line to the air vent lines, needless to say the hubs the transmission the transfer an even the air filter were filled with fuel, but we caught it in time to correct it had all the fluids changed out in about an hour, i hate to imagine all the work that woulda had to be done if they had rolled out in that condition
