Truck Weight...

Just wanted to say I finally weighed my truck. I have been in a few discussions with people lately and for the sake of argument I needed to go get it weighed. Turns out it doesn't weigh as much as I was led to believe. It's a 2000 Extended Cab Shortbed. Toolbox, 6"lift and 37's. With 3/4 of a tank of fuel and me out of the truck it is exactly 7400lbs. (This was on a certified scale. I was under the impression it should be around 8500lbs. Just a little gee whiz info.

thats cool, I have 03 with no toolbox, and I was weighing to drop of some metal at the recycler and it came up like 7100 and I was happy haha

Full tank of fuel, 368 piece Craftsman tool set in back seat, tool box in bed maybe half full of junk, shovel or two, me out~~~~~7,850#

Gonna hafta get mine weighed, cuz the trailer is 13,000, and the truck is rated at 20k total.

My '03' dually supercab longbox weighed in at 7610 with a 1/4 tank of #2 and nothing in the box on a certified truck scale.

My truck gets weighed all the time with my trailer at the scrap yard. Usually around 10,600 with the trailer empty.

The most I ever weighed in at w/o my trailer was when I went to the drag strip...I know

My truck, 7/8 tank of fuel, 39 1/2"W JOBOX in the bed full of tools, and me in it~8180#
No wonder I couldn't break into the 15's

OK, Now I'm wondering, How much can you tow before the Highway Patrol bothers you, I bought my 13,000 lb.trailer from a guy with a Chevy 2500, I figured this truck would do it, but I guess I could still get popped.......
