Last Tranny Gauge Question(I promise!)
Lately, I've been monitoring my tranny temp. gauge & something doesn't seem right to me. According to my gauge, my tranny temp. doesn't run any higher than 150deg in 2WD, even on the L6 setting @ WOT. I mean, I'm not trying to overheat my tranny. I just want to know if this is normal for the truck & also if my gauge is working properly. The needle moves....but no more than 150 @ any rate.

Like said before... what is the outside temp? Where are you taking the temp from? |

Mine runs at 150 just about all the time. Stop and go traffic, highway driving, just doesn't move too much. Though when it got up to 21°C yesterday it was at 165ish.

normal temp is 100 degrees over ambient temp. so that sounds about right.... you could try towing something or just wait until it gets a lil hotter outside

get a temperature gun and aim it at the pan. there about 100 bucks, well worth it

I've got a 7.3 w/ 4R100. From all the info from everyone though, I figure my gauge is working correctly. I appreciate all the help!
