Turbo Or Y-Pipe Positioning

Is it possible that the turbo on a 7.3 needs to be positioned square? Or does it already sit square on the pedistal? After I reinstalled my turbo, I positioned the Y-pipe(from ext. manifolds) to the turbo where I SWEAR it was mating. It sounded like after I took it out for a test ride. The turbo was chirping & you can just hear that uncanny "hiss" exhaust leaks make. So today, a friend & I bought a new v-band clamp (original slightly bent) thinking this was the problem. It sounded better than yesterday, but I still have a hiss and it still kinda sounds like I rechecked the flanges & they're still not mating....any feedback?
