Overseas we use JP-8 in everything, Its the only diesel we have on post. We use it in our HMMWV's MRAP's and Strykers, the air force and civilian contractors run in theyre 7.3's and 6.0's so i dont think youll have a problem running it stright

yep. in "newer" unleaded vehicles running 100ll or 80/87 will foul up your valves with lead deposits. the lead is in there because it is still required for lubrication at higher altitudes. there are also other additives in 100ll suited for high altitude operation that might not jive with a regular gasser. that and 106 octane race gas is pretty close in price to 100ll, so i cant think of a good reason to run it in anything but the cessna 182rg's i fly.

All I know is that Jet Fuel is at least $5 a gallon, so unless you are getting it surplus (defuels or who knows), it's getting stolen from somewhere...

I don't if it does...sure couldn't hurt.

"JET A-1 fuel is essentially identical to JP-8 except it does not have three additives required in JP-8: a fuel system icing inhibitor, a corrosion inhibitor, and a static dissipater additive. Hot JP-8 fuel reduces the life of fuel pumps on some diesel engines, so avoid using JP-8 or Jet A-1 extensively in hot heather, and keep the fuel tank as full as possible to reduce fuel temperature.
Diesel fuel #2 and water separate completely; JP-8 fuel and water do not. JP-8 becomes cloudy when contaminated with water; and the cloudier the fuel, the more severe the contamination."

JP-8 is super clean diesel fuel.
our forklifts run only jp-8 cause they are indoors.
diesel would kill us all in a closed building.
before jp-8 we used jp-5. they never add anything to them only fuel and go.
i would add 2 cycle oil if it was me but i do that now on green fuel.
fuel from defuels and samples would be great. you could put it in a small skid tank with a water separator filter on the pump like i use on farm equipment with red fuel.
it gets the crud and water out. just open the tap on the bottom of the filter and drain the water every so often.
