Pyro probe location

I posted this question on another website (pardon my redundancy), but if anyone here has any input, it would sure be appreciated.

Is it possible to mount the probe pre-turbo so it measures both cylinder banks? From the drawings and instructions that I've seen, the probe appears to only be reading temps from on side of the engine. If you have a problem with a cylinder in the opposite bank, e.g. bad injector, and the EGTs rise, wouldn't you have no way of knowing until it's too late?
What has been your experiences with this? Thanks for any input.
