hpop reservoir

i recently had a buddy (who claimed to kno a lot about the 7.3) tell me that my hpop oil should be changed since i hadn't done it since buying the truck about a year ago. i hadn't heard about but he volunteered to do it for me. long story short he did it buy removing the reservoir (he replaced the oring at the base while doin this) however now i have a very bad oil leak and from what i can see it is coming from the base of the reservoir. he just deployed to afganastan now i have a truck that leaks like a siv and i am supposed to get out of the marines and drive this truck 450miles back home in 2 weeks. my ? is is there a gasket or something that he may have missed or was there supposed to be some kind of specific gasket maker that he missed cause it is loosing oil way to fast for me to be comfortable drive that distance and i need to fix my truck asap 2000 f250 7.3

Closest shop that I know of that I'd recommend is Rudy's.

Rudy's Diesel Performance Kits and Diesel Performance Parts.

They're good people and honest. So honest that if they know of another shop closer to you that they'd tell you. I also have a friend who might be in your area that could take a look and possibly make repairs. Just depends on if he's there or not (he lives in the Western part of NC but travels frequently). Let me see where he'll be and when and I'll get back to you.

Bumping this up to see if anyone else here has some suggestions.

I LOVE Rudy's and would ship my truck cross country to them if that is what it takes to get it fixed.

That said - there is a good mechanic down in Shalotte beside the radio shack that is great on 7.3L's.
