Warranty Info

I just bought my psd a month ago...The previous owner said that my truck still has the engine warranty. I don't have any paper work for this. Is there a place on the net that i could look it up?

The reason why i ask is because i want to install headstuds soon, under warranty. And because the truck was bought in 4/03, so i feel like time is running out.

I had the same issue regarding warranty. The dealer informed me I had warranty till the end of March when I lost an injector recently. I'd say get on it, your time is almost up. But you will most likely have a hard time getting them to do studs if there aren't any problems with your truck currently. Best bet is to talk to the dealer about it.

Unless there is something wrong with the heads/head gaskets or anything else that involves taking the heads and head studs out, you will most likely not get the studs replaced under warranty.

From what I am gathering from your post, is that you want them replaced simply because you want them replaced(I would guess with ARP studs) before the warranty is up? I am sure others on the board have been in this same situation and might have some insight, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

also keep in mind that the dealer is not going to pay for the new head studs, that comes out of your pocket and they're probably also going to charge you a little labor to install them.

Yes im aware of providing my own studs. And also a 100 deductable, that is if they do it. Because currently i don't have any problems.

i have noticed though, some oil that has splattered on the headers. And my truck doesn't cold start in the morning as well as it used to. I plug it in every night, and it still dies on me in the morning. I don't know if this has anything to do with the heads or the gaskets?

If it was built in 4/03 the your warranty will go out in April of 08 I believe, as long as your still under 100k... Maybe you can talk to them and see if they will check on your other problems before warranty ends!

yeah big red is correct, now another thing is, you have to convince the tech to install the studs you buy instead of the stock bolts
