Question for all SCT XCal2 Owners...
Well with the rising cost of diesel around the country, I'm sure someone out there has figured out or has an opinion on this subject....
I have a SCT Xcal2 tuner running on my 6.0, and I'm trying to figure out what the best program is to get the best fuel mileage. Currently I'm running the smoke tune, but I also have Street, XtremeStreet, and Tow. What have you guys found to be the best in terms of mileage? |

As a general rule the hotter tunes usually do better for mpg on a 6.0, but I have heard that DJ and Spartan have had some good success with their lower hp economy tunes. With IDP tunes I have found the Xtreme Race to provide the best economy. This is due to the converter being locked up in every gear above 1st plus the advanced injector timing which makes the engine more efficient.
I see 1 to 2 mpg more on the Race tune vs. stock on the highway and anywhere from the same to a 1 mpg gain vs stock during romp and stomp power abusing city driving. |

I have found that I get my best fuel mileage with a hotter tune as long I as can keep my foot out out of the firewall for the most part. I have heard that some of the economy tunes are doing really well as far as fuel milage goes. I, however have not run any of them so I cannot comment on them. I run a race file as my daily driver.

with the race tunes, dont you run a higher risk of developing engine trouble? I guess its a tradeoff any way you go. I'm trying to figure out what option is best... Going stock or running the extreme street tune I have... Reckon I still have 20K left on my warranty so nows the time to test it out. Thanks for the replies
