Newbie Question

Hey there.. I have been reading in the forums about head bolt replacement... here's the stupid question (please be nice) Why is this needed?? I have been looking and it seems even people without problems are doing it?? I was trying to find out more but I get a little lost when it goes into technical data... sorry of rthe DumbA** question I was just checking if someone can help... thanks guys

The stock head bolts are stretching under high boost conditions causing the head gaskets to blow. Even some stock trucks are doing it. You may never have any problems, but if you do, I suggest you install ARP or H-11 head studs. They won't stretch.

Thanks man... that makes sense now. How does one tell if they are ready to go?? is there leaking?? or a noticable drop in performance?? and are these covered under warranty at all??

if you blow your head Gaskets its covered under warranty and if you can talk the dealer into putting the studs that you bought in while he does the HG then the labor will be under warranty but you have to by the studs

Ah gotcha... hope I have one of the good ones... considering how much these jobs are and mine will be off warranty soon... only got 65,000 kms on it... and still ok from what I can tell

I am about to have mine done under warranty here in about a month or so am ordering the studs today
