Noob EGT Question
I did a search, but I guess my question is REALLY basic.....is the EGT sensor installed between the exhaust manifolds and before the Turbo inlet?
If given a test, I would have answered that it was installed in the exhaust system as close to the turbo as possible. I read the detailed article on diesel manor.com, but was just looking to confirm my suspicions here (where I have yet to be let down) Anyone have any other detailed photos or tips for an install on a 6.0? |

The best place for your EGT gauge IMO is in the exhaust manifold before the turbo. It's really the only way to see exactly what temps your turbo is seeing. Anything mounted after the turbo, you're really only guessing and subtracting.
This is my 7.3, but here are my pics ![]() ![]() Good Luck!! |
