Asking lifted guys?

Hey guys with big lifts like mine, any one else have problems getting stop lights to turn when your the only one at the light? More often than not left turn arrows. I have tried everything going all the way to the left all the way to the right and tried going back and forth over the sensor. Eventually i have to either run the light or wait for someone to get behind me.

I know that motorcycles have some problems making lights change but my truck? its not like im not heavy enough. Anybody know exact how the light knows your there?

Ive heard of lot of people putting magnets on there bike to help trigger the light, not sure if it works on a lifted truck though. I've never put em on my bike, in Illinois you can go through the light if you're on a bike and it doesnt change in 120 seconds, so i haven't had to try it.

The way it works it theres a circle of wire in the concrete, it detects a change in the magnetic field when there is metal near the inside of the circle. So basically you need to get your front axle over the circle more than likely. It has nothing to do with weight. The reason a lot of newer bikes have the issue is they are all aluminum and the sensors dont detect aluminum for crap.

Possibly yea, with your big tires even your axles are a ways above the pavement so it's hard for it to read any change in impedence.

I suggest you hang a piece of 3'x6' 1/4" sheet metal from the middle of the frame that sits 5" off the ground.

I have that same issue on my 95 in some drive throughs. There is a sensor right near the speaker and it just shoots right under my truck.

Yea its mostly just turn arrows because some of them only turn when theres traffic so not to impede oncoming traffic rather than on a timer like alot if the straight thru lights
