Safe or no?

Hey guys, new to the forum and have a new to me 2005 F250.

I'm learning as I go so bear with me if this question has already been asked. I did some searching and could t find exactly what I was looking for.

I just got my truck back from being studded and deleted as well as a few other little mods like the blue fuel pressure spring and the 6.4 banjo bolts. While it was there I had them add on a sct sf3. I already have a scan gauge 2 to watch my eot, ect, trans temp and ficm voltage. Anyways on to the real question. At the end of this week I will be driving to Dallas from College station and want to know if it would be safe driving 3 hours using the sct canned performance tune. I don't have an egt gauge yet but have it ordered as well as a fuel pressure gauge and over mirror pod. I ordered them from diesel manor and its gonna take about a week to get here. So is it safe driving the truck that far or even at all on the performance setting with out a pyro? I drive my truck like an adult and not a hotrod. I occasionally give it some throttle but let off after a few seconds.

If the performance setting is a no go what should I run it on?

Oh and I do have a afe cai and 4 in magnaflow turbo back exhaust already

Thanks for any help and I look forward to being an active part of this forum.

Kyle

Id say you should be fine, but like you said drive like an adult an you should be fine. If you still wanna be super cautious just stop at a rest stop halfway there and let her cool for a bit but its probably fine. Now if you were towing thatd be a different story. But since your studded your fine. i know alot of guys run custom tunes with stock studs and they are still driving.

Go for it and welcome to the addiction..er... the .Org

I was thinking the same thing but this is my first diesel and I don't have the experience a lot of others on here do. And I will not be towing, just me and an empty bed. I'm more worried about melting a piston from cruising down the highway for too long.

Once I get gauges I'm planning on getting some custom tunes but until then I want to be on the safe side.

Also where I can I order the Powerstroke.org window sticker?

You should be fine cruising thats what the cooling system is for. Now if your water temps start spiking i would definitely stop and check. But your egts usually level out when your cruising. Now really extended drives they will slowly build but most people stop for restroom breaks before that happens

You can try these if you want stickers of you can join the forum and they send you some for free
Koozies!!!!
