Good Buy?

Hi,
I'm looking at a 96 regular cab, auto, 4x4 with the 7.3 psd. It has 186,000 miles and the body is in great shape. The dealer is asking $8500, do you think this is a fair price? Whats the best place to get a report done on it, carfax, oasis? Also the dealer just replaced the cps. I really like the looks of the truck, I'm just afraid if something big is about to go wrong with it, trans. Any advice would be great.
Craig

You should be able to talk the dealer down on that price, dealers are usually a little high. Oasis reports only go back 10 years so no luck on your 95. There is a thread on here about what to look for when buying used trucks but i can't find it.

That dosent sound like a bad deal. Id pay that for one but first you have to do your homework on it. Search around on here for what to look for when buying a used 7.3 diesel and that will help ya out a bunch. I love my OBS to death its a real workhorse and a pleasure to drive around town.

I agree with the others the price seems a little high. If / when you get it have to post some pics of the new ride.
