code scanners

Guys what do you recommed for a good obd code scanner? I want to get a new one now that i sold my evolution.

If i get anything im gonna go with auto enginuity. Can do a ton of stuff. the other good(snap on) type scanners are too expensive for me.

yeah i know. Some of them get spendy real quick. I found a used one on e-bay that is a auto x-ray. Looks like a better one. He's asking 150 for it, said it was over 500 new. Its close to where i live so i think if he doesn't sell it i will go down and try it out and maybe make him an offer.

yea might as well try it out. I was thinking about what the AE would be like with the palm pilot they sell. Everyone ive seen with it runs it off a laptop. The laptop would be cool to look at when your driving to see what exaclty is going on in there, i think!

that does sound cool. I just looked up the AE's and the ford pkg is 341 bucks. Thats not too bad, but man i am kinda strapped for money right now. I think though that i would rather wait a while and get that one then spend 100 or less and get a cheap one that won't do much on a diesel.

yea, money is tight here to, but it seems like whenever i get a few hundred extra bucks im always thinkin "what can i get for my truck" with it. lol My next purchase is gonna be a boost leak detector and some new boots from dieselsite, assuming my boots are where i have my leak. Havent had time to track it down yet

I think we all could keep spending more money on our trucks! LOL. I still want to order a DP tuner, but man you can't have it all. At least not all at once. lol
