12 V PLUG
Anyone know where I can get a descent looking 12 v sockett. I want to wire onr to my upfitter switch and run it to the back seat for my kid. My 03' F150 had one back there from factory, man that came in handy. My 06' F-250 does not have one back there.
I am looking for the type that I can drill a hole in the plactic side panels and set it inside with a flip down cover. pretty much just like the one in the front dash. I don't want the ones like I am finding that just screw on to the outside. I want it to look nice. Anyhelp? Thanks

I'd say try a junkyard. Probably gonna be your cheapest, best bet to find what you're looking for.

Why not just go to an Autoparts store. You can get the auxilary power socket there. Then get yourself some 12 gauge wire and wire up the set up yourself.
Or you can buy extensions for auxilary power from autopart stores. Cut the end off that goes into the auxilary power point. Wire it to the switch that way. |

I found some at Wmart and have seen them at Radio shack too i think.
the ones im talking about you drill out a big hole for it then put part behind and screw the center in to hold it and they look stock when finished. |

parts store or wally, easy to do just make sure you tape it up good, hot is exposed on most of them. i use them all the time at work, we just tape them good with electrical tape so if anything ever touches them they are safe, most of them come with a black plastic plug

Thanks for all the input. I have looked at a few parts stores, but those look pretty cheap. I have not looked at Wal-Mart, or Bass Pro.

If your near one...I would recomend going to a decent marine store...you may even find a stainless version.

saw one online at Bass Pro in their marine section. I am going to the store today to check it out. Had chrome plate on the outside and mounted flush. Mot sure why Ford quit putting these in the rear seats, they come in handy. Oh, well it gives me something to do with my three leftover upfitter switches. I used one for the high idle mod, and could not think of anything else to do with the others? This will take up one of them, and keep Mickey and Caillou playing on those long camping trips.
