engine id
when looking for the engine number on the block of an either 6.9 or 7.3 diesel what numbers in the sequence are most important to id it?? It's hard to read to say the least.
I'm attempting to replace the damaged 6.9 L out of my 1986 Ford F350.
The engine I found is from a school bus & is supposed to be a 6.9 L but it's got a paper tag stating it's a 7.3 L ??
It's hard to compare the two because all the stuff attched to the bus engine is in different places from the engine out of my truck.
Once I get a good number who would I contact for further info ? Ford or International and where?
