Stuck in kansas,in a hotel,with wife and kids HELP.....

2005 ford f-250 4x4 6.0 been on the road for about 600 miles. the truck needed to be fueled so i hesitated to get fuel.until the last minute and chugged the truck to the gas station it was running out by the time i got to the pump,left the truck running and filled it up.once i jump back in i noticed the WATER IN FUEL light was on and about that time (sitting at the pumps) the truck started to chug and so i shut it off,grabed an allen wrench and unscewed the water drain plug under the frame rail and drained what i thought was alot of water,and continued to cycle the moter and drain water until i saw good clean diesel come out about 5-6 times:. still won't start! i've tried to cycle the key for 20 min. on / off thinking i may have got air in the line,still wont fire..thinking maybe i picked up some crap off the bottom of the tank and clogged the fuel filter's not real sure??? had to put the family in a hotel in kansas on are way home to texas. there's a two day wait to even look at the truck at ford dealer.....if anyone can help i'd really appreciate it.

Well, I'm not exactly a tech myself.... But, if I were in the same situation I'd find the nearest auto parts store and put a brand new pair of fuel filters in my truck. All you need is a 36mm socket and a 1/2" drive ratchet and of course some rags to clean all the fuel off of you after you take a "diesel bath" underneath your truck.
