new guy
hey guys. well ill introduce myself first. my name is zach. im 21 i live in las vegas. im new to the diesel scene and am looking for a diesel to pull my 91 mustang coupe drag car. i have been looking around for the past few months and have driven the 7.3 the 6.0 long beds short beds. i have found one in particular that i like. its a 2002 lariat short bed crew cab. has 94000 on it and has the remainder of the 7 year 100000 mile extended warranty on it. the owner is an older gentleman who bought truck cause he likes to hunt and fish. hes selling it cause he bought an 08" the interior and exterior are in immaculate condition. look as if they were new. it has a subtle 4 in lift and rims and tires. has a few other things but the entire package i like the truck. have test driven it twice the first time just to see if i like it he secong checked everything. the trans, 4x4, 4 low. i shifted it from 1 to 2 to drive and then let it shift itslef. it felt very good. it is a very nice truck. the only thing is it has an edge chip. i have searched and have come with diff answers. some people swear by it others say it blew their trans up. i would be pulling the edge off and going with something a little more safe like an sct and spartan tune. would this truck be a wise choice if i can have the trans serviced before the warranty is up. it shifted very firm and was not loose feeling at all.

 Welcome Zach. Sounds like a nice truck your looking at. I'd snatch up a 7.3 with lower miles on it. I'm gonna check out a DP tuner for my truck. They are a good reliable chip.

Welcome the the ORG. !!!!!!!
Sounds like a good truck. SCT is the way to go for sure. Edge sells a ton of units and not all of them destroy the trans. I think it is all up to the driver, and if they abuse it.

yeh thats what i thought. im unsure of how the guy drove it. it is a very well kept and clean truck. he told me he has all of his maintnance records. along with what i lifted above the truck has a 46 gal transfer flow tank, tonneau cover, billet grille, a dvd plaer which i dont need, and a few other things. below are a few pics of the truck...

he said hes looking to get 22000 for it. kelly blue book puts it at 20000. im just trying to find opinions on the edge beforei even go make an offer. if i took he truck to ford would they inspect the trans for me afteri took the tuner off?
