High sulfer diesel

A friend of mine who drives big trucks told me that a local service station sells high sulfer diesel. Basically off road diesel with out the die. He said that its about 10 cents more a gallon since they can only get it in small batches. My buddy says he was getting almost a 1/2 MPG better mileage with this diesel (almost 7 MPG loaded). I was wondering what effect it would have on my truck. Would it be worth paying that 10 cents more a gallon?

what are you defining as high sulpher diesel....

the last diesel we had was LSD or low sulpher diesel... at 500 PPM

the new diesel is ULSD or Ultra low sulpher......at no more than 15 PPM

Any 07 or newer truck can run on either fuel....but in 2010 LSD will no longer be availabe anywere. If you have the choice to run 500PPM diesel in your truck i would reccomend it as long as you can get it. I would NOT reccomend running unregulated fuel though, over 500PPM can damage your motor as it wasnt designed to run on anything over that...
