In search of a small diesel engine
Ok,
In the planning stages right now but in about 8-12 months I am going to take a jeep TJ that is without a engine and trans and put a diesel engine in it. I am trying to figure out what size engine will work best. I could not find anything on advanced adapters for a diesel conversion so I figure this will be a massive fabrication. I have been looking around at the Isuzu engines, the cummins 3.9L and I have also thought about the Kubota engines or maybe even a small cat if I could find one for a decent price. I only need about 90-100hp, it doesnt take much to power a jeep! But remember it's got to fit beneath the hood. Anyone got any suggestions on what will work best? Has anyone read any articles/seen anyone else who's done this? My other concern was the computer and all of the junk it controls. How can I get around having to rip this thing out? Any help is appreciated! |

!
Personally I'd put a 7.3 with a 4R100 in it but the 6.0 is a sweet setup in a jeep. Like said in a previous post, check out that link. Incredible.
