I know some guys that have gone there for other stuff such as motorcycle repaire and Autobody. the three guys I know all said that they didnt really learn much there that was usefull in the job market. Other then the motorcycle engine course. The Autobody guys came out and worked with me and I could do way more then they could and had only been working in the industry 6 months at the time. Now we are all about equal but that was a few years ago.

I went through autobody in 03 in Laramie...coulda spent 20k+ much better than that...it was horrible
Street Rod was sweet, that was almost worth the 20k by itself. As far as diesel, I had heard it was much better; kinda wish I would have taken it but oh well... And since you'll be going to Laramie (rantheman), I know youll be in Ft. Collins alot. I probably spent more time in the Ft. than I did in Laramie...enjoy!!

go to uti.much better. they help you get a job at a dealer when you finish school. and they work with auto makers directly. im going to mmi for motor cycles which is a branch of uti and ive learned more in a a couple months then most people would learn in a couple years

So i guess i'm getting mixed reviews on WyoTech. Just checked out UTI and their campus is a lot closer. I'll have to look into their program.

Un -trained- Idiots. Trust me don't waste your time. Wyo has a much better diesel school than UTI does.
You should contact your local ford dealers and speek to them about sponsorship for there schools at the community college. The course is 2 years and 64 credits. You do 8 weeks on campus and 8 weeks at the dealers applying what you leanred during that 8 week course. Cost is about 8k including books and your sponsoring dealer will hire you full time after the training. During your schooling you will have a senior tech work with you and teach you " How to make money ". I went through this course for GM ( ASAP Program ) and it propelled me in my career more than anyone could imagine. I went on to work at the GM proving grounds and then stared my own shop. Hopefully scuffy and a few other techs will chime in. I'm sure they are very fimiliar with the program. I beleive it's very similar to the ASAP program though. |
