what is the driving circuit box?

mine is 2"x2"x1/2" thick and green with hot, cold and sensor wires attached and found hanging under the drivers side dash. the hot wire was pulled when i bought the truck and i re attached . no difference noticed either way. any ideas as to what it does? thanks

it will be tomorrow night on the pic. the way it is hanging in the harness it looks as if it might have been attached somewhere at one time nearby.
