EGT Monitoring

Hey Guys,

I am curious on opinions about GET monitoring.

Is it important if you run stock, no mods?

Is it worth the cost to install?

I am interested in hearing opinions on GET gages.

Appreciate your feedback as I am considering adding the gage. Just not sure I really need it.

My Truck & Trailer weight is around K + or -. I don't drive aggressively and very rarely take her over 70. Never go faster than the posted when hauling and even slower on grades.

Thanks and if this has been discussed before I did not find anything searching for GET. A link or recommended search term would help.

Reagrds,

you really dont have a need for an EGT if you are bone stock, the stock fuel delivery wont allow you to exceed same temps

Personal opion, I think it's a good idea to monitor your EGT's. You'd probably be suprprised as to how hot you may be running even stock. If nothing else it's good piece of mind.

Gauges were the first mods on both my trucks. FYI the Ford typically runs higher EGT's than my Dodge and the Ford engine is stock.
