installing chip and gauge question
i have a 03 7.3 and have an air raid intake, 4in downpipe and 5in dump exhaust for performance and just ordered a DP Tuner. i dont tow so i got the no start/stock/80 econ/100/120/140
what is the danger of installing this before i install my guages? i only have the stock tranny temp gauge, would it hurt to run the tune for a few days until i put the gauges on? |

i would highly recommend having at least a pyro gauge (EGT) before running the truck on the hot tunes or even running the truck hard on soft tunes. if you're egt (exhaust gas tempature) gets too high then you risk extreme damage to your truck. so be safe buddy

ok, so i guess i gotta wait for the gauges then
![]() so would i be fine with a pyro and boost gauge, enlisting the use of the stock tranny gauge? the reason i ask is just cuz im not into flashy gauges that i gotta stare at. money isnt the issue, its just how i am with accesories, the less the better to get the same job done. |

I have 2 gauges: boost and egt on the a-arm pillar. They're really don't "stick out" that much so to speak...just one of those things you do to be safe
