straight pipe???

ive got a 2003 psd, 6.0 and was wonderind what a straight pipe would sound like? turbo whir? V8 rumble? too loud? what effect in the performance will it have? ive heard it lower egt. i want noise, but cool noise! help.
leave the cat or ditch it?? are there sensors involved?

I have a stock exhaust on my 07 for now

But when i do my exhaust it will be turbo back, no cat, no muff. 6.0 sounds awesome through a straight pipe. Just a little rumble at idle, not much more than stock, barks at you at WOT, and lots of whistle . I say lose the cat, you'll love it

BTW, 03' will WHISTLE!!!!! I wish my 07' would sound like that.

No sensors, I lost some low end torque when I went straight pipe. Thats why I went with a free flow muffler. I liked the sound of the straight pipe a lot better, but... it is loud! I also wanted to tone it down a bit for hunting etc.

2004 F-250 6.0

there are no sensors..ditch the cat and muff all together..with the 03 you lucked out, like myself its hands down the loudest 6.0...so much whistle heres a video that i made the other night showing my tail lights but its got the exhaust in there and everything..check it out.

I got rid of the cat and the muffler (just welded a piece of pipe in their place) It loewred the EGT's, it has more power and you can really hear the turbo whistle now It's louder but no were close to a gas engine with straight exhaust. ( My neighbors do love my truck when I come home around 2 am) The main reason I took it off was after I put a Edge Evolution programmer on the EGT's were getting high on long hills and it solved the problem. I cut it off in one piece just before the cat and just after the muffler so I can weld it back on if need be

its all good..Whats going on David? No man thats just my street tune from DJ..Tc? Traction control? what traction? just kidding thought it was funny, ahh torque converter, Ill be honest man I havent played with the looney to much till I get my studs done this month but Ill be moving to a more extreme looney thanks to DJ real soon. that is a beautifuly smokey street tune. how do you like that tune for around town drivability?

Its not bad at all..I think with this cold weather though it makes my truck run a little rough. I have been thinking of getting a reflash, retune, not sure yet. But as far as Drivability goes its great. Shifts seem harder in the cold at first and then it like cleans up after the truck gets fully warm.
