Diesel Ranger??

Hey, got a chance to pick up a 88 Ranger that is in purty good shape...I want to replace the 2.8 with a Diesel does anyone have a idea what motor to put in that might already have a adapter kit???I was thinking about a jeta turbo diesel...

I thin some of the older mazda pickups came with a diesel also i think isizu had some small diesels too. the mazda would probly be the easiest because there a ford motor company product.

I've seen one with a Cummins 4bt.

The 4bt Cummins would make an excellent transplant... and should have tons of power even stock in a ranger!!!!

Id just chop the exhaust off hob the fenders all out get ya some big ole mud tires and brauf it till the wheels fall off.

they used to make a diesel for the escort, not sure who made the motor, but i do know it was a p.o.s for the most part..

You can buy a Ranger NEW in Europe with a Diesel stock. You might want to check into seeing if you can find one of those ???

The ranger with a 4bt was in Diesel World a couple months back I believe.

Yeah i would hate to try to import one. I drove a couple of those when I was in Iraq and those are turds...The reason I was thinking Jetta was they have all kinds of moods for them..

You can get 4bt cheaper and plenty of adapters/mounts are available.
