A 6.0 owner says no more fords

I just meet a guy that has a 05 350 6.0 with @79000 miles. It is leaking oil from the turbo and the rear main seal. The dealer told him that there is $100 deductible.He was pissed. He and I thought it was 100% covered. He said he's going to get rid of it and never buy another ford. Has anyone heard of the deductible? My 6.0 has to go for a rear main seal and I sure don't want to pay them anything to fix something under warranty. Why do these thing have so many problems?

Not sure what the "circumstances" are, but I have heard a lot of people having to pay the deductible.

Maybe one of the Techs can chime in regarding what requires a deductible.

There is a $100 deductable after 3yr/36k miles.
As far as probs some do, some dont.

Ford warranty is...

3/36000 bumper to bumper with no deductable

5/100,000 engine warranty with a $100 deductable

5/50,000 or 5/70,000 warranty on certain emmissions stuff depending on the state you live in

Seat belts carry a longer warranty...but i dont remember what it is (i wanna say 6/80,000, but only for defects not if it was damaged)

i don't blame him for not wanting another Ford. i work with someone who had one of the 6.0's, he got his $$ back per the Lemon Law. he doesn't plan to buy another NEW Ford.

it tells you right in the "diesel suppliment" of your owners manual and was in the paperwork you would have signed if you purchased the truck brand new

It is in black and white in the warrenty info. It us 3/36 on the deductable. Thats the way it has been. I wont even get into the topic of someone getting pissed over that. All I can say is read your info before you sign.

funny part about that is the 6.0 isnt as bad as people make it out to be.....

I would own one....and why would i own something i would want to put a bunch of money into?? because they are not near as bad as people make them out to be
